How to enable the hotfix

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:

1. Exit all Office 2003 programs.
2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Expand the following subkey:

   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
5. Type 001e6624, and then press ENTER.
6. Right-click 001e6624, and then click Modify.
7. In the Value data box, type the value that matches the textEncodedORaddress that you used when you configured the X.400 address to work with the Outlook LDAP service.
8. Click OK.
9. Click Edit, and then click Find.
10. In the Find What box, type 001e6600, and then click Find Next.
11. Repeat steps 4 through 8 in each key that contains the 001e6600 subkey.
12. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
