SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You install Microsoft Content Management Server 2002. You try to set up multiple file groups to store database files. In this scenario, the setup interface does not provide an option to set up multiple file groups on a Microsoft SQL Server database server.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Content Management Server 2002 does not support setting up multiple file groups.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

The build scripts that run during Content Management Server 2002 setup explicitly use the primary file group. Additionally, the Content Management Server 2002 Setup program does not provide an interface to change the configuration. The use of multiple file groups is not a supported feature.
