SYMPTOMSWhen you press the STANDBY button on the Media Center remote one time, a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 does not go on standby. However, the computer goes on standby when you press the STANDBY button again. Note The STANDBY button may be unlabeled. Or, the STANDBY button may be labeled POWER. This problem occurs even though you have applied the update that is described in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

CAUSEThis problem is caused by a problem in the hibernation driver in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, press any button on the Media Center remote one time. Then, press the STANDBY button to put the computer into standby.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
