INTRODUCTION

You must have Administrator rights or Advanced Author rights on a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services site to create a Groove mobile workspace from that site. If you try to create a mobile workspace without the required Windows SharePoint Services rights, Groove Virtual Office and Groove Workspace return an authorization error message. Earlier versions of Groove return a more general error message.

If you try to create a Groove mobile workspace as a Windows SharePoint Services author or browser, you receive an error message.

In Groove Virtual Office, you receive the following error message:

ERROR: Groove cannot make a connection to STS URL. because it cannot be validated as a Sharepoint site.
UNAUTHORIZED: You have not provided appropriate authentication information to perform this request. Press the Back button and try re-entering the URL and authentication information. If you're still having trouble connecting, see your SharePoint site administrator.

In Groove Workspace, you receive the following error message:

Create Shared Space

ERROR: Unable to read the schema for the listname list from site STS URL.

UNAUTHORIZED: You have not provided appropriate authentication information to perform the request. Press the Back button and try re-entering the URL and authentication information. If you are still having trouble connecting, see the SharePoint site administrator.

Earlier versions of Groove do not return a specific error message for this scenario. Instead, you receive the following general validation error message:

ERROR: Groove cannot connect to STS URL because it cannot be validated as a SharePoint Team Services Web site. Press the Back button, enter a different URL, and try again. If you are still having trouble connecting, see the SharePoint site administrator.
