- Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006
- Microsoft Office Small Business Management Edition 2006
SYMPTOMSYou select a tax group on a customer invoice, save the customer invoice in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting, and then change the tax rate for that tax group. When you either view the invoice or receive payment on the invoice, the sales tax is not automatically recalculated.CAUSEThis problem occurs because Small Business Accounting is not designed to automatically recalculate the sales tax on a customer invoice if the tax rate is changed after the invoice has been saved.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps: - On the Customer menu, point to Customer Lists, and then click Invoices.
- On the Invoice List list, double-click the invoice for which you want to recalculate the sales tax.
- Click the Edit button.
- In the Tax Group box, click a tax group other than the original tax group.
- In the Tax Group box, click the tax group for which you changed the tax rate.
- Click Save and Close.
