The OLE DB Provider for IBM DB2 that is included with Host Integration Server 2000 returns incorrect metadata when you use the provider to connect to DB2 version 8 (912470)

INTRODUCTIONThe Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 (DB2OLEDB) that is included with Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 returns incorrect metadata when you use the provider to connect to IBM DB2 version 8.
(We do not support this provider for use with DB2 version 8 because we have not tested this provider for use with DB2 version 8.)
DB2 version 8 returns its metadata from the SYS catalog tables as Unicode data by using character code set identifier (CCSID) 1208. The OLE DB Provider for DB2 that is included with Host Integration Server 2000 does not support CCSID 1208. Therefore, the provider returns incorrect metadata.
The OLE DB Provider for DB2 that is included with Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 returns correct metadata when you use the provider to connect to DB2 version 6 or to earlier versions of DB2.
