Error message when you start Word: "Error 1402. Speech recognition files can't install files due to installer 1450." (912256)

SYMPTOMSWhen you start Microsoft Office Word 2003, Microsoft Word 2002, or Microsoft Word 2000, you receive an error message that is similar to the following: Error 1402. Speech recognition files can't install files due to installer 1450. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the required files for the Office Shared Features are not installed on the computer.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, follow these steps. Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
- Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Under Currently installed programs, click the entry for the version of Microsoft Office that is installed on the computer.
- Click Change.
- Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
- Click to select the Choose advanced customization of applications check box, and then click Next.
- Click the icon that is next to Office Shared Features, and then click Run all from my computer.
- Click Update.
- If you are prompted, insert into the computer's CD drive the CD for the version of Microsoft Office that is installed on the computer. Then, click OK.
- After the update is completed, click OK.
