Additionally, these entities cannot be used for import operations. After you upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you may receive the following warning message:
Warning: Detected custom attributes with unsupported characters in the logical name.

910794 Using extended characters in attribute names in Microsoft CRM 3.0

CAUSE

This problem occurs because earlier versions of Microsoft CRM let you use attribute names that have extended characters.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 does not support extended characters in the logical names of custom attributes. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 analyzes the Microsoft CRM database after an upgrade. If custom attributes that have extended characters in the names are detected, you receive the warning message.

RESOLUTION

To resolve these problems, install the Microsoft CRM Attribute Rename Tool that is provided in this hotfix package.
