You may receive Error 1406 when you use Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 to install IntelliPoint 5.2 on a Windows-based computer (912082)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 to install Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.2 on a Microsoft Windows-based computer, you may receive Error 1406. Additionally, the installation may not be completed.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the Spy Sweeper program is installed and is running on the computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disable the Spy Sweeper program, and then install IntelliPoint 5.2.
