To assign a keyboard command to a Web site, follow these steps.

Note Make sure that the shortcut link to the Web site is saved in the Favorites folder. If you have not saved the Web site link, save the Web site link now.
  1. Open the Favorites folder.

Note In Microsoft Windows 95, in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, and in Microsoft Windows 98, the Favorites folder is installed in the following location:

    Drive:\Windows

In this example, Drive is the hard disk partition where the Windows operating system is installed. In Microsoft Windows 2000 and later versions of Windows, the Favorites folder is installed in the following location:

    Drive:\Documents and Settings\Username

In this example, Username is the name of the user account.
  2. In the Favorites folder, locate the shortcut link to the Web site that you want to open.
  3. Right-click the Web site shortcut link, and then click Properties. Make sure that the Web Document tab is selected.
  4. Click inside the Shortcut key box, and then press ALT+F1. Now the Shortcut key box will have the ALT+F1 entry in it.

Note You can specify any keyboard shortcut that you want to use.
  5. Click Apply, and then click OK.
To assign the keyboard command to a button on the IntelliMouse Explorer device, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type main.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Click the Buttons tab if you have the Microsoft IntelliPoint software installed. If you do not have the most recent IntelliPoint software installed, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
  3. Under Button Assignments, select the button on the IntelliMouse Explorer device that you want to use to open the Web site.
  4. On the drop down menu for that button, click Keystroke. You receive a dialog box that prompts you to enter the keyboard shortcut.
  5. Click inside the Type the shortcut key combination here box, press ALT+F1, and then click OK. You will see the Keystroke (ALT+F1) entry in the drop down menu that is assigned to the button on the IntelliMouse Explorer device that you selected.
