After you enable an SIP account, the SIP account cannot log on to a Live Communications Server 2005 server (911783)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 Standard Edition
SYMPTOMSAfter you enable a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
account, the SIP account cannot log on to a Microsoft Office Live Communications Server
2005 server. Additionally, the SIP user may receive the following error
message: Signing in to SIP Communications Service failed
because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist
This behavior occurs even if the SIP
account
is
enabled on the Live Communications Server 2005 server. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run,
type dcomcnfg, and then click
OK.
- Expand Component Services, expand
Computers, expand My Computer, expand
DCOM Config, and then expand RTC Store Access
Interface Class.
- Right-click RTC Store Access Interface
Class, and then click Properties.
- Click the Security tab.
- Under Access Permissions, click
Edit.
- Add the following groups to the Group and user
names list:
- RTC Local Administrators
- RTC Local User Administrators
- RTC Server Local Group
- Restart the Live Communications Server service.
