Error message when you connect to a company file in a multiuser workgroup environment in Small Business Accounting: "User does not have the permissions required to log on to the SBA system" (911184)

SYMPTOMSIn a multiuser workgroup environment in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006, when you connect to a company file, you may receive the following message: User does not have the permissions required to log on to the SBA system CAUSEThe problem occurs when one or more of the following conditions are true: - The Use simple file sharing (Recommended) option is selected on the server.
- The Windows logon credentials are not identical on each computer.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, use one or more of the following methods. Method 1: Verify that the "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" option is not selected on the server- On the server, click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe, and then click OK.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
- In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab.
- In the Advanced Settings pane, clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) option.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
Note By default, the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) option is selected in Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and in Windows XP Professional Edition. A computer that is running Windows XP Home Edition cannot be used as a server because the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) option cannot be cleared on Windows XP Home Edition. Method 2: Verify that Windows logon credentials are identical on each computerVerify that Windows logon credentials are identical on each computer. For example, if a user on the server has the user name of USER1 and the password of PASSWORD on the server, you must to create a user on the client who has the user name of USER1 and the password of PASSWORD. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
