Xbox 360: The number keys and the text keys on the Remote Keyboard for Windows XP Media Center Edition do not work with the Xbox 360 (911121)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Xbox 360
  • Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
  • Microsoft Media Center Extender for Windows XP Media Center

SYMPTOMS

The number keys and the text keys on the Remote Keyboard for a Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE)-based computer do not work with a Microsoft Windows Media Center Extender for Windows XP Media Center, such as the Xbox 360 console.

Note Other Media Center keys on the remote keyboard such as Live TV, My Music, and My Pictures work correctly.

CAUSE

Windows XP Media Center Extender does not accept number and text input from the Remote Keyboard for Windows XP Media Center Edition.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Use the number keys on the Xbox 360 Media Remote or on the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote to input numbers. Use the on-screen keyboard in the Xbox Dashboard to input text.
