The information in this article applies to:
- Xbox Video Game System
- Microsoft Xbox 360
SYMPTOMSYou may experience poor wireless performance when you connect to a Media Center computer.CAUSEThis issue may occur when you use wireless networking equipment that is not "Designed for Media Center Edition" (DfMCE)-logo certified.THINGS TO TRY- To guarantee compatibility with current hardware and also provide additional uninterrupted bandwidth for Xbox 360, replace an older 802.11g-only router with a newer dual-band 802.11g and 802.11a router that is DfMCE certified.
The Xbox 360 console can be connected to an 802.11g or an 802.11a router with an optional wireless adapter that is available from http://www.xbox.com. Optimal performance can be achieved when the Xbox 360 connects by using 802.11a. Other wireless devices, such as portable computers or desktop computers, connect by using an 802.11g router.
