After you update a Windows 2000-based computer to Windows Vista, the Fax service does not work (911078)

CAUSEIn Windows 2000, the Fax service works only when it runs under a user account. However, in Windows Vista, the Fax service must run under the Local System account.
The Windows Vista upgrade process does not automatically change this functionality.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Double-click the Fax service, click the Log On tab, click Local System account, click to select the Allow service to interact with desktop check box, and then click OK.
- Click the Fax service, and then click Restart Service.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
