FIX: High CPU utilization occurs on a Windows CE-based device when you stream a WMA file by using HTTP (910980)

SYMPTOMS

When you stream a Microsoft Windows Media Audio (WMA) file from a server that is running Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) by using HTTP, high CPU utilization occurs on a Microsoft Windows CE-based device.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the receive thread for the HTTP streaming filter clears the input buffer too frequently.

RESOLUTION

Software update information

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previous updates are also installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.
