When you use Visio 2002 to open an organization chart that you created in Visio 2003 and saved as a Visio 2002 drawing or template, the chart does not function like an organization chart (910820)

SYMPTOMSWhen you use Microsoft Visio 2002 to open an organization chart that you created in Microsoft Office Visio 2003 and then saved as
a Visio 2002 drawing or template, you experience the following symptoms: - The organization chart does not function like an organization chart.
- The Organization Chart toolbar is unavailable.
CAUSEThis behavior may occur if you saved the Visio 2003 organization chart as a Visio 2002 drawing (.vsd) file.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, export the Visio 2003 organization chart data, and then import the data into Visio 2002. To do this, follow these steps: - In Visio 2003, export the organization chart data to a Microsoft Excel worksheet. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Visio 2003, and then open the organization chart.
- On the Organization Chart menu, click Export Organization Data.
- Type a name for the export file, and then click Save.
- When you receive the following message, click OK:
Organization data exported successfully. - Quit Visio 2003.
- Import the organization chart data into Visio 2002. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Visio 2002.
- On the File menu, point to New, point to Organization Chart, and then click Organization Chart Wizard.
- Click Information that's already stored in a file or database, and then click Next.
- Click A text, Org Plus (*.txt), or Microsoft Excel file, and then click Next.
- Click Browse.
- Locate and then click the organization chart data that you exported in step 1.
- Click Open.
- Click Next three times.
- Click I want the wizard to automatically break my organization chart across pages, and then click Finish.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
