Error message when you try to add a new contract line in a renewed contract in Microsoft Dynamics CRM: "Start date/end date or billing start date/billing end date is invalid" (910767)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to add a new contract line to a renewed contract in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you receive the following error message when you click Save:
Start date/end date or billing start date/billing end date is invalid. The start date is invalid.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the contract spans a change in daylight saving time.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next version of Microsoft CRM that contains this hotfix.

Install this hotfix on computers that are running one of the following versions:
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook or Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 server
  • Microsoft CRM 1.2 client or Microsoft CRM 1.2 server

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this hotfix.

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows Server 2003, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

A system administrator can use the Spunist.exe utility to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003. The Spuninst.exe utility is located in the following folder:
