You may not be able to create a new player profile when you play the Windows version of Halo: Combat Evolved (910350)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to play the Microsoft Windows version of Microsoft Halo: Combat Evolved, and you want to create a new player profile, you may not be able to create the profile. Additionally, you may receive an error message that states that the Halo.exe file is corrupted. Alternatively, you may receive the following error message: We are sorry but there was a problem accessing your personal Halo PC files which are located in your My Documents folder. CAUSEThis issue may occur if the saved game files are corrupted.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, rename and then re-create the Halo.old folder that contains the saved game files. To do this, follow these steps. Note Make sure that you use the same user account that you used to play the game to follow these steps. Additionally, the user account must have administrative rights. - Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
- In Windows Explorer, click My Documents.
- In the right-pane, double-click My Games to display the folder contents.
- Locate and then right-click Halo.
- Click Rename.
- Type Halo.old, and then press ENTER.
- Quit Windows Explorer.
- Start Halo: Combat Evolved.
When you start Halo: Combat Evolved, the Halo.old folder that contains the saved game files will be re-created. If there are saved games in the renamed folder, you can try to recover them one at a time.
