You do not have throttle control over each engine in Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight (910332)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight

SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight the throttle control for the engines do not work as expected. You would expect to have throttle control over each engine on a multi-engine aircraft.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you increase or decrease the throttle by using the joystick or by using the keyboard. By default, the throttle controls, the mixture controls, and the propeller controls are synchronized.

RESOLUTION

Method 1: Use the keyboard

When you use the keyboard to select a specific engine for throttle control, press E, and then press the engine number.

For example, if you want to use the throttle control to control engine 1, press E, and then press 1. If you want to control engine 2, press E, and then press 2.

To select all the engines for throttle control on a multi-engine aircraft at the same time, press E, and then press each engine number.

For example, if you want to use the throttle control to control all the engines on a dual engine aircraft at the same time, press E, press 1, and then press 2.

Method 2: Use the mouse

When you use the mouse to select a specific engine for throttle control, click the throttle control panel icon on the main control panel, and then drag the throttle control to the position that you want position.

To move more than one throttle control at a time, drag in the area between the throttle controls as if grabbing both controls with one hand.

Note This method also works for the mixture control and for the propeller control.
