SYMPTOMS

Requestors that are coded as single-apartment Component Object Model (COM) applications will not work with the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) most of the time on a Windows Server 2003-based computer. Whether these applications will work with VSS depends on the call sequence that the requestors use. However, the requestors will never work in the Windows on Windows 64 (WOW64) environment. Additionally, the following event may be logged in the System event log:Event Type: Error
