MORE INFORMATION

If you and your business partner have different banking accounts at the same bank, you can use different user names to access the accounts online. You can set up both the banking accounts to receive online updates in Microsoft Money. Because there are two user names, the same bank will be listed for each user name in the Money account list.

Note You cannot set up different banking accounts to receive online updates in earlier versions of Microsoft Money.

To set up different banking accounts to receive online updates, follow these steps:
  1. Create the first banking account. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start Money.
    2. Click the Banking tab, and then click Add a new account.
    3. Click Banking, and then click Next.
    4. Click your bank or brokerage in the list, and then click Next.
    5. Click OK in the Security Alert dialog box if you are prompted.
    6. Type the sign-in information, and then click Continue.
  2. Create the second banking account. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click the Banking tab, and then click Add a new account.

    3. Click the same bank or brokerage that you selected in step 1, and then click Next.
    4. You will be prompted with a This bank or brokerage is already setup in Money dialog box. Click No, the new account has a different User ID in the dialog box, and then click Next.
After you create the two banking accounts, the bank name will be listed two times in the online services manager. If you want to use only one user name for both the banking accounts, contact your bank to see whether they can link the accounts. Then, you can update both the banking accounts in Money by using the same user ID and password.
