How to add more credit card processing users in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting (910014)

This article describes how to add more credit card processing users in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting.

You can add more credit card processing users in Small Business Accounting. Each user must have a Microsoft Passport Network account. If the user who you are adding does not have an existing Passport Network account, the user can sign up for an account when the user signs up for credit card processing.

Note To follow these steps, you must have already signed up for credit card processing in Small Business Accounting. For more information about how to sign up for credit card processing, see the "Sign up for credit card processing" topic in Small Business Accounting Help.

To add new users

To add more users, follow these steps:
  1. On the Customers menu, point to Credit Card Processing, and then click Manage Credit Card Processing.
  2. Enter the Passport Network credentials of the user who first signed up for credit card processing.
  3. Click the User Settings tab.
  4. Click Add User.
  5. Type the first name and the last name of the user.
  6. Assign a role to the user.
    • A user who has the Administrator role can perform all tasks.
    • A user who has the User role can process payments and refunds.
    • A user who has the Limited User role can process payments.
    Note All the roles let users create and view filtered reports. The Account Settings tab and the User Settings tab are unavailable for users who have the User role or the Limited User role.
  7. Issue a 6-digit personal identification number (PIN) to the user.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Sign Out.
After you successfully add a new credit card processing user, the new user must sign up for credit card processing.

Steps for new users

To sign up for credit card processing, follow these steps:
  1. On the Customers menu, point to Credit Card Processing, and then click Sign up for Credit Card Processing.
  2. Sign in by using your Passport Network credentials, or sign up for a new Passport Network account.
  3. Enter your 6-digit PIN.
  4. Enter your contact information.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Finish.
To manage credit card processing, click the Customers menu, point to Credit Card Processing, and then click Manage Credit Card Processing.
