SYMPTOMSWhen you try to create or import accounts, items, customers,
vendors, or employees in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting, you may
receive the following error message: The integer exceeds
the maximum allowed value. Use the default number value or a smaller
number. CAUSEThis issue occurs when the following conditions are true: - The Account No.
box, the Item No. box, the Customer ID box,
the Vendor ID box, or the Employee ID box
contains a value that uses numbers only.
- This value uses more than nine numbers.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use one of the following methods: - Use an alphanumeric value
in these boxes instead of a value that uses only numbers.
- Modify the value
in these boxes so that the value uses nine numbers or fewer than nine
numbers.
