The Security tab and the "Limit number of query result items" check box are not available in SMS 2.0 and in SMS 2003 (909635)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0
SYMPTOMSYou want to assign permissions to the Query class for a user group in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 or in Microsoft SMS 2003. However, in the Queries Properties dialog box, the Security tab and the Limit number of query result items check box are not available to the users in the user group.
CAUSEThe users in this user group do actually have applicable permissions to the Query class. However, the Security tab and the Limit number of query result items check box are unavailable because of a known problem with the SMS Administrator console.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, use the SMS User Wizard to modify Query class permissions instead of using the Security tab in the Queries Properties dialog box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
