You cannot synchronize Entourage 2004 for Mac with a Palm handheld device (909526)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to synchronize Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac with a Palm handheld device, the synchronization process does not work.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you do not have Microsoft Handheld Synchronization installed on the Palm handheld device.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Microsoft Handheld Synchronization.

Note Before you can install Microsoft Handheld Synchronization, Palm Desktop 4.0 or a later version of Palm Desktop must be installed on the Palm handheld device.

To install Microsoft Handheld Synchronization, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to the computer by using an administrator account.
  2. Quit all Office programs. This includes quitting Office Notifications. Additionally, disable any virus-protection programs.
  3. Double-click Handheld Sync Installer in the Additional Tools folder in one of the following locations:
    • The Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac CD-ROM
    • The hard disk drive
    • The network from which you installed Office 2204 for Mac
  4. Follow the instructions that are on the screen.
After you install Microsoft Handheld Synchronization, follow these steps:
  1. Start HotSync Manager.
  2. On the HotSync menu, click Conduit Settings.
  3. In the list of conduits, double-click Entourage Conduit.
  4. Select the options that you want.
