INTRODUCTIONAn update is available for Domain Name System (DNS) client computers that are running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2). This update lets a DNS client computer accept packets of up to 64 KB (kilobytes) from a DNS server. Previously, the largest packet that a Windows XP-based DNS client computer could accept was 16 KB. However, some DNS servers can send packets of up to 64 KB. These DNS servers include servers that are running Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
