Xbox 360: The Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter automatically connects to the strongest available network (908966)

SYMPTOMS

When you set up the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter, the wireless adapter automatically connects to the strongest available network that the adapter detects.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design. By default, the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter will first connect to the strongest unsecured wireless network that the adapter detects.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Select the network that you want to connect to. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. In the System section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Network Settings.
    2. Select Edit Settings.
    3. On the Basic Settings tab, select the network that you want to connect to on the Wireless Network Settings list.
