You do not receive any results when you use the Outlook Search feature with Exchange 2000 Server (908863)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Search feature in Microsoft Outlook to search a mailbox that is located on a server that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, you do not receive any results. Additionally, the Search window stops responding. These symptoms no longer occur if you perform either of the following tasks:
  • You dismount the store and then mount it.
  • You restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.
However, the symptoms occur again after some time.

RESOLUTION

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you install the hotfix. However, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service and all dependent services will be restarted.
