Xbox 360: How to set the Family Settings pass code (908643)

1. Press the Xbox Guide button.
2. In the System section, select Family Settings.
3. On the Family Setting screen, select Console Controls.
4. Select the category that you want to change. Some categories may not be available depending on the Locale setting on the console. You have to set at least one restriction before you can set the pass code. When at least one restriction is set, the option to set the pass code becomes available.
   • Game ratings (options differ by region)
   • DVD movie ratings (only available for US, Canada, and Japan)
   • Access to Xbox Live
   • Xbox Live membership creation
   • Original Xbox games
5. Select Set Pass Code.
6. Select Pass Code.
7. You can create a four-button pass code with the Y button, the X button, the triggers, the bumpers, and the directional pad. When you are prompted to Verify Pass Code, enter the same sequence.
8. Select Pass Code Reset Question.
9. Select one of the following Pass Code Reset Questions:
   • Favorite fictional character?
   • Favorite person from history?
   • Favorite childhood book or story?
   • Favorite movie?
   • Favorite food?
10. Select Pass Code Reset Answer.
11. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the pass code answer, and then select Done.
12. Select Done to leave the Set Pass Code screen.
13. Select Done to leave the Console Controls screen.

Note When you set the Family Settings pass code, make sure that Pass Code Reset Question and Pass Code Reset Answer are correctly set. This question and answer are used to reset the pass code in the case that a parent, a guardian, or an adult forgets what they set.
