You can enter pre-paid codes from the Xbox Live Marketplace or from Account Management. You can also use the Add Points Wizard to enter a pre-paid card for Microsoft Points.

Note Xbox 360 subscription codes are designed specifically for the Xbox 360 and are not compatible with the Xbox version 1 console. However, the Xbox version 1 subscription codes are compatible with the Xbox 360.

To enter a pre-paid code from the Xbox Live Marketplace, follow these steps:

1. In the Xbox Live section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Xbox Live Marketplace.
2. Select Redeem Prepaid Code.
3. Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.
   
   The Redeem Prepaid Code option in the Xbox Live Marketplace automatically translates the length of time of the pre-paid code to your subscription or points total and configures the renewal or conversion status of your account. Therefore, you may find this the most straightforward method to use to redeem pre-paid codes.

To enter a pre-paid code from Account Management, follow these steps:

1. In the Xbox Live section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Account Management.

   Note You can also change your payment method from a credit card to a pre-paid code if you select Change Payment Option in the Xbox Live section.

2. Select Memberships.
3. Select the appropriate membership for which you want to use the pre-paid code.
4. Select Redeem Prepaid Code.
5. Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.

To enter a pre-paid card for Microsoft Points in the Add Points Wizard, follow these steps:

1. Press the X button on any screen in the Xbox Live Marketplace.
2. Select Redeem Prepaid Card.
3. Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.
