RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following
methods.
Method 1: Configure the printer to use the soft font instead of the resident font
Configure the printer to use the soft
font instead of the resident font. The resident font is included with the printer.
Note A
soft font is installed with the operating system. A
resident
font is built into the
hardware of a printer. A resident font is also called an
internal font or a
built-in font.
To configure the printer to use the soft font, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click
Printers and Faxes.
- Right-click the target printer, and then click
Properties.
- Click the Device Settings tab.
- In the font substitution table, click to select the Garamond font, and then click
Download As Soft Font in the drop-down list.
Note If the adjustment settings are unavailable, you may not have
sufficient permissions to make these changes. Contact your
hardware administrator.
Method 2: Install a PCL5e printer driver
Download and install a PCL5e printer driver for the
printer.
To obtain this printer driver, visit the hardware
manufacturer's Web site, or contact the technical support center for
the hardware manufacturer. For information about how to contact your hardware manufacturer, click the appropriate article number in the following list to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
