SYMPTOMSIn Groove Virtual Office and in Groove Workspace, when the only manager of a workspace leaves the workspace, no one can perform the actions that are restricted to the role of manager. Additionally, because only a manager can change a member's role, no one can be assigned the role of manager.WORKAROUNDIf a workspace does not have a manager, follow these steps to create a copy of the workspace with you as a manager: - In the Workspaces list, right-click the workspace name, and then click Duplicate Workspace or Duplicate Shared Space depending on the version of Groove that you are using.
Note This creates a duplicate workspace that is named "Copy of workspace_name." You will be the only member of the duplicate workspace. Additionally, you will have the role of manager. - Invite the members of the original workspace to the new workspace. To prevent this problem from occurring again, invite at least one other member as a manager.
- Instruct all workspace members to delete their copy of the original workspace as soon as they receive the new workspace.
- After all members have deleted the original workspace, you may rename the new version of the workspace by using the name of the original workspace.
