SUMMARY

This article describes how to move a gamer profile from one console to another console.

MORE INFORMATION

To move your gamer profile from one console to another, use an Xbox 360 Memory Unit (MU) or use the Profile Recovery feature. The latter is only available for Xbox Live enabled profiles.

When a profile is moved to a memory unit for roaming, the profile is subsequently removed from the previous location. Additionally, when an Xbox Live enabled profile is recovered to another console by using the Profile Recovery feature, the previous profile is invalidated. To recover a profile using the Profile Recovery feature, type your Windows Live ID credentials (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in to the Windows Live ID).

To move profiles, follow these steps:
  1. In the System section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Memory.
  2. In list of storage devices, select the device where the profile resides.
  3. Select Gamer Profile.
  4. Highlight and then select the profile that you want to move.
  5. Select Move.
  6. Select the storage device where you want to move the profile.
  7. Confirm the profile move.
