SYMPTOMS

When you use a custom Microsoft DirectX Media Object (DMO) transform together with two-pass encoding in Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 9 Series, the audio stream may be truncated.

CAUSE

The pins on the filter graph are not correctly reset after the preprocessing pass is completed.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
  • Use one-pass encoding.
  • Use an uncompressed profile in Windows Media Encoder 9 Series when you apply the transform. Then, reencode the uncompressed file by using two-pass encoding.
