Xbox 360: "There is not enough space on the storage device." error message when you try to save (907614)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to save to your Xbox 360 console, you receive the following error message:
There is not enough space on the storage device.

CAUSE

The memory device has insufficient available memory to store the item or items that you want to save.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Create some available space on the storage device.
    • Free disk space. To do this, remove items from the hard drive that you do not need. For more information about how to remove content, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
