Xbox 360: How to troubleshoot the Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable (907605)

No picture

Turn on the TV. Select the video input on the TV or on the VCR that displays the Xbox 360 game. The input name differs for different TVs or VCRs. Common names include Input Select, AUX, Line In, Line, In, Input, Source, and EXT. For more information, see the manual for the TV or for the VCR.

Picture without sound

If you are setting up a high-definition TV, verify that the TV supports the HDTV settings in the Xbox Dashboard. Make sure that you connect the video and audio connectors to the same input group on the back of the TV. If you use digital audio, make sure that you turn on the audio receiver and that the audio output setting in the Xbox Dashboard corresponds to the setting on the TV.

Sound without a picture

Verify that you turned on the TV. Make sure that you connected the video and audio connectors to the same input group on the back of the TV. Make sure that you set the TV to display the input group into which the Component HD AV Cable video connectors are plugged.

No high-definition output

Verify that you set the switch on the console end of the AV cable to HDTV. Make sure that the TV supports the HDTV settings in the Xbox Dashboard.

Note Do not take your Xbox 360 console or its accessories to your retailer for repair or service unless an Xbox Customer Support representative instructs you to do this.
