Avocent DSAuth does not install its services in Windows Server 2003 with SP1 (907463)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1, when used with:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), Avocent DSAuth does not install its services.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the services manually. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  2. At the command prompt, switch to the DSAuth installation folder.
  3. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after you type each command.
    • InfoDBService.exe -install
    • ConsoleAuthServer.exe -install
  4. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
  5. Right-click InfoDBService, and then click Start.
  6. Right-click ConsoleAuthServer, and then click Start.
