An event ID 2006 error message is periodically logged when you use a client computer to perform file operations on a Windows 2000-based file server (906913)

SYMPTOMS

When you use a client computer to perform file operations such as saving or retrieving data on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based file server, an error message that is similar to the following is periodically logged in the System log: Event Type: Error
Event Source: Srv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2006
User: N/A
Computer: SERVERNAME
Description: The server received an incorrectly formatted request from \\CLIENTNAME. Additionally, the file server may disconnect the Server Message Block (SMB) session for the client computer that is specified in the error message.
