SYMPTOMS
When you use the Relog.exe tool to convert a .blg performance log file to a SQL database file, you receive one of the following error messages:
Call to SQLExecDirect failed with (null)
Call to SQLAllocConnect failed with (null)
Additionally, the following event is logged in the Event Viewer Application log:Event Type: Error

Description:
The description for Event ID ( 3042 ) in Source ( PDH ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Unclosed quotation mark before the character string
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
