The private key description field always displays "CryptoAPI Private Key," and you cannot change the text in Windows XP Professional based-computers (906751)

SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft Windows XP Professional-based computer, you click Details in the Creating a New RSA Exchange Key dialog box. When you do this, you find that the private key description displays CryptoAPI Private Key, and you cannot change the text.

There are many scenarios where you may experience this problem. One scenario occurs when you use Web enrollment to request a user certificate from a certification authority (CA), and you enable the Enable strong private key protection option in the advanced certificate request page.

Note You do not experience this problem on Windows 2000-based computers.

RESOLUTION

Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
