SYMPTOMS

You open a Microsoft Excel workbook or a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation from a Files tool in Groove Virtual Office or in Groove Workspace. When you close the workbook or the presentation, you receive the following message: Groove has detected changes in file name. Do you want to save the changes back to Groove? You receive this message even if you did not modify the contents of the workbook or the presentation.

CAUSE

Excel and PowerPoint sometimes modify the information in a workbook file or a presentation file when the file is opened. When this behavior occurs, you are prompted to save the changes in the Groove workspace even if you did not make any visible modifications to the workbook or the presentation.
