To set the screen display format, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that you set the television or screen settings to widescreen if you want to view the screen in widescreen format. See the television manual for more information.
  2. Start the Xbox 360 console without a disc in the disc tray.
  3. In the System section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Console Settings.
  4. In the Console Settings area, select Display.
  5. In the Display Settings area, select Screen Format.
  6. In the Screen Format area, select Normal or Widescreen, and then press the A button on the controller or on the remote control.
Note When you use the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable, the screen format settings are automatically configured.
