You may receive an "[0xC3EC783C]" error message when you run the Create/Upgrade Enterprise Edition Pool Setup program in Live Communications Server 2005 (906597)

SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You run the Create/Upgrade Enterprise Edition Pool Setup program in Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005. Live Communications Server 2005 is running on the back-end SQL server of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. In this scenario, the installation of the Create/Upgrade Enterprise Edition Pool Setup program fails after you try to run the program. Additionally, you may receive an "[0xC3EC783C]" error message when the Setup program runs the Dbsetup.wsf script. When you view the Live Communications Server 2005 deployment log, you receive an error message that is similar to the following: Script Command Line: cscript.exe //U "X:\setup\i386\dbsetup\dbsetup.wsf" /dbexists /sqlserver:"sql_server_name" /sqlfilepath:"X:\setup\i386\dbsetup"

CAUSEThis issue occurs because the latest version of the Microsoft Windows Script Host program is not installed on Windows 2000 Server. When you run the Create/Upgrade Enterprise Edition Pool Setup program in Live Communications Server 2005, the Dbsetup.wsf script uses Microsoft Windows Script Host version 5.6.
Note Windows Script Host version 5.6 is the default version that is on Microsoft Windows Server 2003.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, install and update the Windows Script Host program to the latest version on the Windows 2000 Server that is running the SQL server. To obtain the latest version of Windows Script Host, visit the following Microsoft Web site STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
