You can play music from a portable device in the following two ways:
  • Play music from the Xbox 360 Dashboard. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start the Xbox 360 console without a disc in the disc tray.
    2. Use the Xbox 360 Controller or a remote control to move to the Media section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard, and then select Music.
    3. In the Music section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard, select Portable Device.
    4. Select the music that you want to play.
  • Play music from the Xbox 360 Guide. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. During gameplay, or from the Xbox 360 Dashboard, you can press the Xbox Guide button on the Xbox 360 Controller or on the remote control.
    2. In the Xbox Guide, select Select Music, and then select Portable Device as the Music Source.
    3. Select the music that you want to play.
