You cannot remove Speech Application Deployment Service if IIS has been removed (906376)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Speech Server 2004 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Speech Server 2004 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

If you try to remove Speech Application Deployment Service (SADS) after you have removed Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), the SADS Setup program fails and you receive the following error message:
Fatal error during installation
Additionally, the SADS files will still be installed.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the SADS Setup program checks for the presence of IIS. The Setup program will not install or remove SADS if IIS is not detected.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install IIS before you try to install or remove SADS.
