Remote assistance may not function on a computer after you uninstall the SMS 2003 Advanced Client (906320)

SYMPTOMSAfter you uninstall the Microsoft Systems Management Server
(SMS) 2003 Advanced Client from a computer, remote assistance may not function on the computer. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
- You did not enable the Remote Tools Client Agent when you installed the SMS 2003 site server.
- You used a Group Policy object (GPO) to configure remote assistance settings in Group Policy Object
Editor.
- You used the Ccmclean.exe tool or the Msiexec.exe command
together with the /x parameter to uninstall the SMS 2003 Advanced Client.
Note This problem does not occur if you enabled the Remote Tools Client
Agent on the SMS 2003 site server. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the following registry entries are removed when you uninstall the SMS 2003 Advanced Client:
- fAllowToGetHelp
- fAllowUnsolicited
- fAllowUnsolicitedFullControl
- RAUnsolicited
These entries contain remote assistance settings. These entries are located under the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
NT\Terminal Services RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, re-apply the GPO to computers
that experience this problem.STATUSMicrosoft
