Changes that you make to the NLB configuration may not be applied in ISA Server 2004, Enterprise Edition (906287)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004, Enterprise Edition

SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004, Enterprise Edition, changes that you make to the Network Load Balancing (NLB) configuration may not be applied. Also, the NLB service may not start.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you configure NLB while the properties dialog box for an item in Network Connections is open.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. Close all the properties dialog boxes for the items in Network Connections.
  2. Start ISA Server Management.
  3. Expand Arrays, expand Array_Name, and then click Monitoring.
  4. In the details pane, click the Services tab, and then click Network Load Balancing.
  5. On the Tasks tab, click Start Selected Service.
  6. Quit ISA Server Management.
