Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
Fixes in the service pack that require that you configure a registry key
When it is appropriate, Microsoft provides fixes that use registry keys. You can use these registry keys to enable, disable, or configure the functionality of a fix. By default, some fixes may be disabled. You may have to configure a registry key to enable a fix.

You cannot insert clip art into an Office 2003 object in a program that is not an Office 2003 programWhen you try to insert clip art into an Office 2003 object in a program that is not an Office 2003 program, such as WordPad, nothing happens. For example,
when you point to
Picture on the
Insert menu and then click
Clip Art in the Office 2003 object, the
Clip Art task pane does not open.
A control in a UserForm may be selected and then deleted when you try to find help in the Visual Basic EditorConsider the following scenario. You create a UserForm in the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) in an Office 2003 program. Additionally, you add several controls to the UserForm. Then, you type a question in the
Type a question for help box and press ENTER. If you click in the
Type one or more keywords box and then press the LEFT ARROW key, a control in the UserForm is selected. If you then press DELETE, the control is deleted.
The time in the Date Taken field is incorrect in Picture ManagerWhen you use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view the properties of a picture that was taken
by using a digital camera, the time in the

component to view the data in a text file that contains Chinese characters. If the text file is loaded into the OWC Spreadsheet component by using the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
LoadText method of the Range object, some of the data in the text file is truncated or missing in the OWC Spreadsheet component.
You are prompted to acquire a new license when you open an Information Rights Management-protected document in an Office viewerEvery time that you open an Information Rights Management-protected document in a Microsoft Office 2003 viewer, you are prompted to acquire a new license.
An e-mail message or an attachment becomes corrupted when you save an e-mail message that contains an attachmentConsider the following scenario. You open a document that was received as an attachment to an e-mail message. Then, you close the message without closing the attached document. When you are prompted to save the message, you click
Yes.
If the message is an RTF-formatted message, the body of the message is lost. If the message is an HTML-formatted message or a plain text-formatted message, the message contains a message.rpmsg attachment. Additionally, the original attachment becomes corrupted.
You are prompted for the Product Key when you start an Office 2003 program after you install Office 2003 on a computer that has a preinstalled OEM version of Office 2003Consider the following scenario. You have a computer that has a preinstalled original equipment manufacturer (OEM) version of Office 2003. Additionally, you install a retail copy of Office 2003 and provide the Office 2003 Product Key during the installation.
When you try to start an Office 2003 program, you are prompted for the Office 2003 Product Key.
Note This problem may occur if you have not previously run an Office 2003 program from the preinstalled OEM version of Office 2003 before you install the retail copy of Office 2003.
A new summary document can be created from an Information Rights Management-protected documentYou open an Information Rights Management-protected document in Word 2003.
If you click
AutoSummarize on the
Tools menu, you can create a new document that contains the summary. With an Information Rights Management-protected document, you would expect not to be able to create a new document that contains the summary.
The status of Communicator 2005 team members is not displayed in Office 2003 programsIf you start an Office 2003 program before you start Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, the status of the Communicator 2005 team members is not displayed in the Office 2003 program.
Some new language locales are missing in Office 2003 Language SettingsAfter you install the new language locales that are included in update 897338, the following language locales are missing on the
Enabled Languages tab in Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings:
- Inuktitut (Latin)
- Luxembourgish
- Mohawk
- Mapudungun
- Romansh

You are not prompted to trust a signed add-in when you use high security in Office 2003You start an Office 2003 program that contains a signed add-in. If you have the macro
Security Level set to
High, you are not prompted to trust the add-in. Additionally, the functionality of the add-in is not available. This problem occurs when the path of the add-in .dll file contains quotation marks in the Windows registry.
You cannot open InfoPath 2003 forms when the Internet zone in Internet Explorer is set to high securityWhen the Internet zone in Microsoft Internet Explorer is set to high security, you cannot open Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 forms.
You cannot add a Microsoft Office Document Imaging Viewer Control to a UserForm in Office 2003When you try to add a Microsoft Office Document Imaging Viewer Control to a UserForm in the Microsoft Visual Basic Editor (VBE), the control is not added. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visual Basic: Library not registered.
The appearance of the Pawn icon is changed for Office documents that are saved in a Windows SharePoint Service document libraryThe Pawn icon that indicates presence status is changed from the Messenger-style icon to a circle.
