FIX: The SNA Manage Agent service logs Event 5166 and Event 5167 when you change the configuration of an active connection in SNA Manager (906105)

SYMPTOMSWhen you are an administrator for Microsoft Host Integration Server, and you change the configuration of an active connection in SNA Manager, the SNA Manage Agent (Mngagent.exe) service logs the following event messages: Event ID: 5167

Description: An internal error has occurred in the mngsna module - Dynamic update for 3270 LU failed.

Description: An internal error has occurred in the snaadmin module - Received an error in dynamic update response - update failed.
Although the SNA Manage Agent service logs these event messages, SNA Manager correctly saves the configuration changes and updates the SNA Server service to "Out of Date" status. Additionally, when you restart the SNA Server service, the changes are correctly implemented.CAUSESNA Manager sends dynamic updates to the SNA Server service (Snaservr.exe) when you make configuration changes. However, the SNA Server service cannot dynamically update an active connection. Therefore, the SNA Server service returns error messages to the Host Integration Server management components. These error messages indicate that the dynamic updates have failed.
The SNA Manage Agent service also returns an incorrect string for the Event 5167 description. The string always reports that a dynamic update for a 3270 logical Unit (LU) has failed, regardless of whether the configuration change affects a 3270 LU. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Host Integration Server 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.
